Refinishing Funiture

So I am obsessed with the blog www.allthingsthrifty.com she is always redoing something great. I have to check it everyday just to see the new things she has done. The other day she re finished a piano!! She painted it an ivory color. I was totally inspired and HAD to re finish something too. So after searching high and low at the local thrift stores I found this beauty! I could see the potential from the moment I saw it and told Vince I HAD to get it, and I promised that if he let me get it I would not buy another thing from the thrift stores until it was finished. So he (reluctantly) let me get it.

This is the before shot...

So we took it all apart and I spray painted it. First with the primer KILZ (because it comes highly recommended from the all things thrifty lady) And let me tell you it took forever. I finally decided to just get a can of the primer and roll it on because it was taking too long the other way. After it was all primed I spray painted the thing an ivory color. ..

So Allie LOVES to help her mommy and daddy. Actually she HAS to be doing exactly what we are doing or she gets mad. So here she is helping her dad put it back together. She is such a helper. She is practicing to be a Tinker Fairy...

And this is how it turned out. I was pretty happy with it. Although if you look up close you will be able to tell it was my first attempt at refinishing a project.

Bar Ten Ranch

We went on a fun vacation to Bar Ten Ranch with the Lundin family. We had alot of fun out in the middle of no where some where along the Arizona strip.

Thanksgiving in St. George

We had a great time in St. George for Thanksgiving at my parents house--this is Vince writing. It was nice to get away, enjoy some great food, watch some good football, and be with awesome family.

The weather was great! We got to go outside and breath the nice air. St. George weather is just about perfect around Thanksgiving so it was nice to be outside!! Allie's birthday is on Dec. 10th and her cousin Abe's is on the 2nd so we decided to have a combined party while we were down there. It was a good time.Allie was a little bit shy about digging into the cake. I think my dad jokingly suggested that someone give her a fork. We laughed.


Aparrently the fork was really a good idea. Allie grabbed it and started eating with it.

Jill's parents bought a winter home in St. George so they were able to come to Allie's birthday party and we were able to spend some time with them as well.

I went into the back room the other day and found Allie trying to get an apple out of the box. It was so funny, it reminded me of a little monkey with her hand caught in a trap.
