We are blessed!

Well, we sure have been blessed this past week. We have seen the hand of the Lord in our lives working miracles day by day. Wednesday December 10th at about 2:00 am I started into labor, about 5:30 am we decided it was time to go to the hospital. We got there and got checked in and I was dilated to a 4 or 5. We opted for the epidural right away, who wants to put up with the pain? I was finally dilated to an 8 or 9 and stopped dilating. The doctor decided though that it was OK to start pushing, because she was small and he figured she would fit through just fine. We pushed for about 2 1/2 hours, and she was not coming and I was tearing in all areas and he gave us the option of continuing to tear or do a C-section. We opted for the C-section. So they prepped me for that and took me in. The C-section did not take long, and before we knew it she was here. Then we went in to the mothers room. I started getting really cold and tired! I felt so tired I couldn't even think of holding the baby. Come to find out I had started hemorrhaging really bad. They took me up to surgery again. (The details are a bit hazy for me after this point) After three hours of surgery they could not stop the bleeding and asked Vince if they could do a hysterectomy. He gave the go ahead. (Anything to stop the bleeding)
They did not end up doing the hysterectomy, but instead were able to put the uterus together somehow, I am not sure the details on that, but they were able to stop the bleeding. After the surgery they transferred me to the University of Utah for better care. They ended up giving me a total of 8 units of blood throughout the whole process. I was in the ICU at the University of Utah for a few days. Then they moved me to another area for a few more days. It was a scary experience. I felt as if I was in a dream and was not able to wake up. But I am grateful for the priesthood and the prayers of all those who were praying for us. I know it helped to get us through so far. they say I have quite a while of recovery ahead of me, but I know I am progressing each day.

Thanksgiving!

This was taken outside the house we stayed at in Bountiful!

We had a great time during the Thanksgiving weekend. We stayed in a house in Bountiful that Jill's parents rented. Her entire family was there--30 in all! The house had like 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and tons of fun stuff. We went ice skating one of the days. It was just a good time overall. The food was Awesome!!

We're still anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little one!

A new post!

Well...
We haven't posted anything for a long time so we thought it was time to post something. Time seems to just be flying by. We'll have a baby soon. I think when she comes we will get more into this blogging thing. I am still teaching school (this is Vince writing) and doing night classes three times a week. Jill is still working at the chiropractors office but should be done the week of Thanksgiving.
Our ward here in West Jordan is great. Jill does achievment days and I am the activities chairperson (Jill is pretty much the co-chairperson) and I get to teach Elder's quorum once a month. Church is great. I'm always grateful for a day, unlike the rest, to stop and do church things.
Things are well for us. We're excited to be able to start our own family. I'm sure it will bring new challenges, but we know it is the right thing to do and something we both have looked forward to in our lives.
